Legends and Puppies Tour Returns
They're back...
The one of a kind Legends and Puppies Tour of 2008, with former gubernatorial candidate, Kinky Friedman, and Texas Poet Laureate, Steven Fromholz, is back on the road once again to raise money for the Kinkster's favorite cause, the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch, a 501(c)3 organization that rescues abandoned and/or abused dogs, nurtures them and places them with loving families.
Kinky's brand new book, What Would Kinky Do? - How To Unscrew A Screwed Up World (St. Martin's Press) is about to hit bookshelves across America. Texas show-goers will have an exclusive opportunity to get an early copy-and get Kinky to sign it! A portion of the sale of each book will benefit Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch.
Named Texas Poet Laureate in April, 2007, Steven Fromholz is a unique Texan, who has had his songs recorded by Hoyt Axton, John Denver, Lyle Lovett, Michael Martin Murphy, Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker and dozens of others. Four years after suffering a near-fatal stroke, he's singing and playing better than ever, and he's recently written and published a book, 'Texas Trilogy' (Esteban Publishing). Fromholz describes his music as: "free-form, country-folk rock, science fiction, gospel gum, bluegrass opera, cowjazz music." Steven Fromholz is once again a huge presence on stage.
Little Jewford will be accompanying Kinky on stage, as usual, bringing his own brand of zaniness to the entertainment. Jewford will likely be packing heat, too - the cigars, that is! Remember, each sale of a Kinky brand cigar also helps the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch. Even non-smokers have been buying them, just to help the puppies!
