Tom Friedman, one of the founding directors of Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch, once said, "Save one dog. Save the world." His words later became the motto and continue to be the daily practice at Utopia.

Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit "never-kill" shelter that rescues abandoned and/or abused animals, nurtures them and places them with loving families. Nancy Parker-Simons (affectionately known as "Cousin Nancy") has managed to keep the doors to Utopia rescue open for ten years--that's quite an accomplishment as those familiar with animal rescue can attest. It wasn't always easy, but due to Cousin Nancy's dedicated supervision, Tony Simons' devoted effort and Kinky Friedman's undying support, more than 2000 animals have been rescued since the opening.

Kinky Friedman will pay a holiday visit to Heroes & Legacies in Lubbock on Thursday, December 4. Highlights of the evening celebration will include a showcase of Kinky Friedman Cigars, conversations with Kinky, autographs, pictures, food, drink and much more.

It's been more than two years since Kinky has attended a public event in Lubbock and crowds are expected!

O'REILLY: You know, I mean, look, she's getting more publicity than Barack Obama week after the vote. What's going on?

STASI: Well, I don't think that that's necessarily true. I mean, the super train, messianic, you know, steamroller that is Obama, I mean, they were like covering every single inch. He walked through the White House. And I don't think that she's getting so -- you called her a force. I think it's more of a curiosity. I think that she got blamed for a very bad campaign. She didn't contribute to a very bad campaign, but Barack Obama - - I mean, there's only so much they can.
